BAR NEXT DOOR
West Hollywood, USA
“An intimate and nostalgic craft cocktail bar that blends the many eras of the Sunset Strip’s history”
Nestled in the corner of a 1930s streamline-moderne building that once housed Marilyn Monroe’s first talent agent, Bar Next Door is a laid-back, unpretentious spot along the Sunset Strip—arguably the most glamorous stretch of real estate in America.

DESIGN INSPIRATION
We wanted to create the feeling of driving along Sunset Strip - glinting reflections in motion, set against a dark enveloping backdrop, flashes of neon, and an essence of Hollywood nightlife of times past. We used fluted glass, faceted mirror and chrome accents to achieve this, with warm timbers and layered lighting to create a cosy, intimate feel.
BUILDING CONTEXT
The building has a rich history tied to old Hollywood – once housing an esteemed talent agency that represented Marilyn Monroe. The façade has an Art Deco feel, with a curved glass window and cheeky porthole window. New neon signage continues the illuminating spirit of the Strip, with café curtains providing a sense of privacy for patrons, and intrigue to passers-by.
